Stephen was involved in the company’s estimating operations, these will continue to be carried out by the staff who very capably fulfilled this function during Stephen’s recent long post-operative absence namely Stuart Cowling (Estimator) ably assisted by Robert Crossley (Trainee Quantity Surveyor).

The estimating department will be overseen by our Surveying Director Grahame Crossley who along with his fellow Quantity Surveyors will continue to produce lump sum tenders from drawings and specifications.

Health and Safety Award at North Liverpool Academy

Health & Safety Award at Cowley College
At the halfway stage of the Cowley College Project, Keith Walton Brickwork has been given the overall site safety award by our new client Willmott Dixon.
In addition Keith Walton Brickwork’s operatives came top in a health and safety assessment questionnaire conducted by Willmott Dixon. Neil Pyatt one of Keith Walton Brickwork’s bricklayers was awarded the individual Health and Safety Award. [Photos]

Lancashire Schools BSF Project
Following a meeting with Bovis Lend Lease we have been advised that we are to be appointed to carry out a further two schools in Burnley commencing Spring 2009.This follows on from the three already completed and one that is currently ongoing. Additionally a further four projects commencing Autumn 2009 are to be allocated subject to us achieving the necessary KPIs in respect of Quality, Delivery, Health & Safety Performance and of course Budget.  Many further work opportunities are likely to be available as part of the ongoing framework for the Wave 2 BSF Project & Academies running through to 2013.

New Project Award in East Midlands
Keith Walton Brickwork has secured a medium sized project for facing brickwork and ancillaries to a four storey "house block" at HMP Nottingham for PCSL, with whom we forged a good working relationship at HMP Altcourse recently. Work commences in mid November for approximately 18 weeks.

Leeds BSF Programme
Keith Walton Brickwork has recently completed the largest school of this tranche of Leeds Building Schools for the Future at Rodillian High School within the agreed timeframe and to a very high standard. We have swiftly agreed our final account with our valued client Interserve Project Service Limited.

New Project Award in Kirkby, Knowsley
Keith Walton Brickwork has secured a further medium sized masonry project for a new build school project with Conlon Construction. This continues our excellent working relationship with this progressive professional regional contractor. Work is due to start on Holy Angels Catholic Primary School in October and will continue for a period in the region of 14 weeks.

New Project Award in Horsforth
Keith Walton Brickwork has secured a project for Kier. The project is a medium size brickwork and blockwork package for the extension and alterations to an existing live Morrisons superstore. Our works will commence during August and will be phased over a 20 plus week period.

New Project Award in Clitheroe
Keith Walton Brickwork has secured a project for Clugston Construction at Johnson Matthey, Clitheroe. This project consists of brickwork and blockwork to a new building within an existing chemical factory.

Safety Critical Worker Assessments
Keith Walton Brickwork are following best practice by embarking on a programme of “Safety Critical Worker Assessment” medical examinations & screenings. This involves all our telescopic handler operators and will take place over three days during week commencing 21^st July 2008. Whilst a significant cost is involved in this initiative we believe it is money well spent in order to further protect our valued workforce.

New Project Award in Cheshire
Keith Walton Brickwork has secured yet another project at Astra Zeneca for Bullock Construction. This is a second phase to the energy centre first phase we carried out for them in 2006 and our 10th project for Bullock Construction at Astra Zeneca.

New Project Award in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
We have secured a project with Naylor Myers a building materials supply group to carry out natural stonework to a new office development at their Huddersfield Premises.

New Project Award in Cheshire
Keith Walton Brickwork are extremely pleased to have secured their first project with the newly re-branded GB Building Solutions (formerly Gleeson Building). We are to construct an "Extra Care" centre in Middlewich commencing very soon.

Annual HBG “PEP” Review
David Ferguson and Wayne Kelly attended our annual Category One Subcontractor Purchasing Excellence Programme review with HBG’s supply chain representatives Nigel Gallagher and Derek Dreaves.

New Project Award in Lancashire
We are very pleased to announce that we have secured a masonry package for Bovis Lend Lease at Sir John Thursby Community College, Burnley. This project will be our fourth school for Bovis Lend Lease and the Building Schools for the Future East Lancashire project.

ISO 9001.2000 Quality Management System
Keith Walton Brickwork Limited has commenced fine tuning their current in house systems in order to meet the criteria of ISO 9001.2000 with a view to seeking accreditation by Autumn 2008.
Thereafter accreditation to ISO 18001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System will be targeted by bringing into line where and if necessary our current in-house systems.

New Project Award in Leeds
Keith Walton Brickwork Limited are pleased to have been awarded a blockwork package by our repeat order client HBG for the prestigious "Rose Bowl" project which is to be a new teaching facility and car park for the university.

Miller Subcontractor of the Month Award on Bolton Market Hall Site (Health & Safety)
We were scored the same number of points as QED scaffolding who Miller Construction chose for the subcontractor of the month award based on their higher level of resources during the month at Bolton Market Hall.

New Project Award in Merseryside Area
Keith Walton Brickwork are pleased to have been awarded with a sizeable masonry project for Galliford Try. The project, Halewood Heath centre, is a further Merseyside LIFT project for Galliford Try and is due to commence early December.

New Project Awards in West Yorkshire
We are extremely pleased to have secured a masonry package on the new Village Hotel, Morley Leeds for ISG.
This is our second such project for ISG the first being the Village Hotel at Ashton Under-Lyne. ISG have a framework arrangement with this client and it is our intention to once more perform to our high standards in order to be considered for future opportunities.

We have secured a blockwork package on the Latitude Office Development, Leeds for our valued client HBG Construction.
